As a foreigner, can I get financing in Vietnam?: Foreign nationals may only apply for a mortgage in Vietnam that is repayable in full within the length of time that they are residing in Vietnam, to include tourist visas.

Do I have to pay tax on the rental income?: Yes, rental income is taxable and tax rate will vary in accordance with the rental income.

Do I need a lawyer to assist with the purchase agreement and the transaction?: Typically not required, unless you feel you need to.

If I buy a property during the construction phase, can I sell before completion?: Yes, you can transfer/resell the property while it's in the process of being built

As a foreigner, am I allowed to sell to another foreigner or can I sell it to a Vietnamese national?: You can sell both to foreigners and locals

As a Vietnamese national, can I sell to a foreigner or I must sell to another Vietnamese national?: You may not sell landed property that is not within a real estate development to a foreign national, but you can sell an apartment, or a landed property within a real estate development that has not reached the development's 30% quota for foreign ownership.

As a foreigner, can I buy land to build a house on?: Foreign nationals are not permitted purchase land in Vietnam unless they become a Vietnamese citizen.

Can a property be purchased under a company name? If yes, does it have to be a Vietnamese company or can be a foreign company?: Yes, properties can be purchased by Foreign Invested Enterprises to include land and landed property.
