BRG Group seeks nod to build five-star hotel in HCMC
Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Nga of BRG Group met with HCMC Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong yesterday to seek the city government's backing for a plan to build a five-star hotel called Hilton Garden Inn Saigon in District 1, HCMC. According to Mr Phong, most world-class hotel brands have been present in the city but this will be the first one to be managed by Hilton. In addition to the Hilton Garden Inn Saigon, BRG has plans to develop several other hotel and office projects in HCMC like the five-star Crowne Plaza, a six-star office building in coordination with Japan's Sumitomo Corporation, and Conrad hotel in coordination with Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc.

Vingroup & Tan Hoang Minh lead the way in apartment sales
Vingroup and Tan Hoang Minh are the two leading investors in Vietnam’s real estate market in terms of apartment sales, according to a real estate company’s report. Vietnam’s real estate market recorded strong growth in the number of apartments sold by real estate projects in the Grade A segment during 2017, tripling the figure in 2016 and the highest growth rate since 2010. Buyers of Grade A apartments are both owner-occupiers and investors with an eye on leasing the property, which lie behind the impressive increase. Meanwhile, sales of Grade C apartments increased only slightly while those in the Grade B segment declined.

First Jardin des Sens restaurant opens in Viet Nam
French restaurant Jardin des Sens, a joint venture between SonKim Land and Pourcel Château Group, opened on January 12th, 2018 in a heritage villa in HCM City’s District 3. The opening of the first Jardin des Sens restaurant in Viet Nam also represents a strategic move by SonKim Land into the food and beverages business. Pourcel Château Group plans to open more restaurants with different concepts in the next two years together with SonKim Land.
