Nomura Real Estate acquires Sun Wah Tower in District 1
Real estate developer Nomura Real Estate Asia Pte., Ltd., a subsidiary of Nomura Real Estate Holdings, has completed the purchase of a 24% stake in Sun Wah Tower where 85% of the floor area is hired by foreign investors. According to Nomura, the demand for leasing Grade A office buildings has increased due to the scarcity of supply. Besides, Japanese investors are increasing investment in Ho Chi Minh City; thus, acquiring Sun Wah Tower will contribute to meet the increasing demand. Nomura also expressed ambitions to expand its presence in Asia by 2025. Some of the target markets are Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok, and Manila.

Vingroup enters affordable housing space
Marking its stronger presence in affordable housing sector, Vietnam’s biggest property developer Vingroup has announced its foray into the low-income group housing under the ‘Happy Town’ brand. In its announcement, Vingroup said it will implement housing strategies for low-income people in industrial zones in some provinces and cities nationwide. Foreign condo buyers flock to Phu My Hung City Centre
Phu My Hung Development Corporation recently reported that a large number of foreigners are buying its condos. In the first half of this year many foreigners bought housing at its projects, including new ones and ones under construction like Scenic Valley, Riverpark Premier, Nam Phuc Le Jardin, and Phu My Hung Midtown’s second and third phases, it said. Late last week, company held the sales event of its new project, Urban Hill, and more than a fifth of the 500 prospective buyers who turned up were foreigners.
