Why does 'European Town' at Thanh My Loi (district 2) become 'hot' at beginning of the year?

Vietnamese realty major Vingroup forays into higher education space

Marking its presence in one of the fast-growing and investment-savvy spaces, Vietnam’s leading property developer Vingroup is foraying into the higher education space with the launch of VinUni (Vin University). In a statement, Vingroup announced it will implement strategic cooperation with Ivy League universities including Cornell and Pennsylvania for its entry into the new vertical. The firm targets to complete its campus development in the next two years. Vingroup entered into the education space with Vinschool in 2012. It has also expanded into other major sectors such as retail and healthcare.

The scarcity of cheap social housing projects in HCMC

In 2018, most of condominium projects in HCMC were ranged at high prices while apartments with low prices remained scarce. According to HimLam Land, Nova Land, HungThinh Corp, Vingroup, Nam Long, all projects are being sold for more than VND1.5 billion per unit. HCM City's real estate market is lacking low-end projects for under VND1 billion per unit. Real estate experts said that in 2018, the real estate market in HCM City will continue to face a shortage of low-cost housing, as construction material prices are rising and land funds are getting scarce, forcing businesses to sell their projects with high prices to ensure profitability.

Sandy beaches a solid foundation

The central region has enjoyed a robust growth in tourism in 2017 with the highlight of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Danang, which gave a boost to the region to lure in hospitality investors. According to statistics from the central cities and provinces, the region has attracted an increasing number of tourist arrivals in 2017. Danang recorded six million tourist arrivals in the first ten months of 2017, while Quang Binh welcomed roughly three million. Nha Trang and Hue saw 4.5 and three million tourist arrivals, respectively, during the period. It is evident that the central region’s scenic coastline has contributed significantly to the development of the local tourism industry.
