Face risks of house collapse, many still try to find solutions
Ho Chi Minh City currently has 474 apartment buildings built before 1975, concentrated in the districts 1, 3, 4, 5, 10. Many of the apartments are degraded and in danger of collapsing. However, up to now, after more than 2.5 years of implementing the plan, the city is still struggling to build a legal corridor for implementation. Many people said that the most difficult problem in renovating old apartments is to harmonize the benefits of the Government, residents and businesses. Because there is no legal framework, so the whole city has had 15 D-level apartment buildings. Until now, there are just 2 apartments rebuilt while the remaining 13 apartments are seriously degraded.
